“Jack and Jill” is a 2011
comedy film starring Adam Sandler. “Jack and Jill” was directed by Dennis Dugan
and distributed by Columbia Pictures.
Adam Sandler plays the
role of a very successful man, named Jack Sadelstein, who was working in an
advertising company in Los Angeles. Jack
was married with Erin (Katie Holmes) and they had two children, Sophie and
Gary. Jack also had… an identical twin
sister, named Jill (also Adam Sandler).
One day, Jill decided to visit her brother’s family and stay with them
for holidays. This arrival made Jack’s
quiet life upside down. Instead of that,
a donuts commercial manager demanded from Jack to get Al Pacino for an
advertisement. Furthermore, when Al
Pacino met Jill, he fall in love with her, while she was not. Because the advertisement for donuts was very
important for Jack, he dressed up as Jill and visited Pacino pretending
her. During the meeting Jack had a call
from Jill which made him feel guilty, so he decided to reveal the truth to
Pacino. Jack wanted to apologize to his
sister, and finally he found her and using their twins’ language Jack and Jill
showed their fraternal love to each other.
During this film you
realize that twins’ language is not just few funny moments, but it’s also a
twins’ secret and a way that only twins can communicate with it. I have chosen to suggest to my classmates
this film because I believe that it’s a really good family comedy with lot of
laugh. So if you want to have funny
moments watching a film, in my opinion, “Jack and Jill” is a very good choice.

Hi Victoria
ReplyDeleteIt seems like a fun family comedy and i look forward to watching it but in the meantime, why did Jack feel guilty about Jill? Also is the hidden meaning of the movie to give us a message about how twins communicate?
Best
Anna-Maria.
Hi Anna-Maria,
ReplyDeleteThank you for commenting on my film review. Jack felt guilty about Jill because without her permission he dressed up like her and went to Al Pacino pretending that he is Jill and she feel also love for Pacino. During this call Jack made Jill's voice so she understood what happened and started crying. That's why Jack felt guilty about his sister. Now, about the second part of your question I believe that the answer is yes. Because at the beginning of the film we can see scenes from Jack and Jill where they were children and used to play together. Also at the end of the film there are couples of real twins saying their way that they communicate together and no one other can understand them. That's the reason I believe that the movie wants to pass to us the message of how twins communicate...
Best,
Victoria
Hello Victoria,
ReplyDeleteI really find the review of your film exciting and I would like to watch the film soon! I also like Adam Sandler! Finally what happened with Al Pacino and the advertisement at the end??
Best wishes
Chrystalla
Hi Chrystalla,
ReplyDeleteI appreciate that you find interesting my film and thank you for commenting on it. At the end Jack showed to Al Pacino a DVD with an advertisement where Al Pacino was starring for the new coffee of the donuts commercial, named Dunkaccino. When Al Pacino watched the advertisement he said that it was awful and he didn’t like it at all. So Al Pacino told to Jack to destroy every copy of this DVD…
